WoW: Wrath Of The Lich King Classic is Getting Quest Tracking After All
In an interview that was conducted in April, WoW Classic Director of Development Brian Birmingham said Blizzard wouldn't use quest tracking to allow players to progress up in the expansion exactly as they did when the expansion was released in 2008. If that's still the case it is possible that the quest tracker feature will not be included initially but it may be added to the game towards the end to the game's expansion's entire content cycle the same way it was originally.
Blizzard recently outlined its philosophy regarding how it is approaching changes for Wrath of the Lich King Classic and the possible next WoW Classic releases. In the statement, it states that it will protect and encourage social experiences and keep the game accessible and familiar to players and preserve Azeroth for the title's "main main character." Adding in the quest tracker does seem to contradict certain of the objectives, however, it's a feature that is sought-after by a large number of players in the game's community, many of which would be able to use community-made mods that restore the features of the quest tracker irrespective of whether it's actually included or not.
Wrath of the Lich King Classic doesn't currently have an exact release date, but is coming later this year. Modern WoW's latest expansion, Dragonflight is also scheduled to arrive before the end of 2022.
