The points for spawning are deactivated in the same moment the quest is completed. Players are required to travel a specified distance across the city to complete the quest. Setting the spawn point can be done on your City map by selecting the desired location for spawning and then verifying it.

In the Unlock Spawn Points side quest is provided by ATM the NPC in the City, and requires participants to walk 26.2 miles. It must be done by foot, and using the BMX skateboard, skateboard, or rollerblades won't contribute to the total distance the player has travelled. The player also has to be running and not walking. If the quest is tracked, there will be an indicator of progress on left-hand side of the screen making it easy for players to track the distance they've covered.

The total distance is tracked in time and doesn't require to be completed at once. It is important to note that running at a distance won't count, therefore continuous running will not be effective if an obstacle in the path. When players have completed 26.2 miles and finish the quest, all the spawn points automatically open. A spawn point can be placed on the map at one of 7 locations.

Setting the spawning point will change the location that the character is spawned at each time they return to City. This can be useful should there be a certain zone in the City that players need to come back to. The Unlock Spawn Points quest will reward players with 1,000 MVP points. Collecting these points will eventually lead to unlocking the penthouse through an MVP quest. NBA 2K22 will provide a myriad of possibilities and features in the City for the next generation of players.
