U4gm Arc Raiders PvE Test vs PvPvE Matchmaking Guide
Choosing a mode in ARC Raiders during October's matchmaking test comes down to what you want from a run. If you are studying routes, pursuing quests, or deciding how to use ARC Raiders BluePrints, a quieter session may give you room to think. If the uncertainty of meeting another Raider is the point, the familiar PvPvE queue still has its appeal. Embark plans to offer both options from October 13 through October 20, 2026.
A Better Look at Pendola Pass
The PvE test arrives soon after the planned October 8 introduction of Pendola Pass. Its village, observatory, and buried train depot give players plenty to learn before they can move through the area confidently. Without player-to-player damage, a first visit can be spent finding routes and noticing where ARC patrols make travel difficult.
That makes the test useful for players who usually leave a new location before they have understood it. It also suits friends who want to explore together or finish a quest without treating every distant footstep as a possible fight. The map will still pose danger; removing hostile player attacks does not remove ARC or the need to extract.
Practice Against the Machines
Frozen Trail is set to introduce unfamiliar ARC threats, including the aggressive Bully and the elusive Skulker. PvE gives players a setting in which to observe their attacks, try different cover, and work out when to retreat. A failed attempt can teach more when attention is not divided between a machine and another armed squad.
There are limits to that practice. Embark says certain high-tension conditions, including Frigate, will not be available in PvE matchmaking. The test also mixes solo players, duos, and trios in its sessions. It is an opportunity to learn ARC combat and cooperate with other Raiders, not a rehearsal for every encounter the full game offers.
What PvPvE Still Offers
Staying in PvPvE preserves the decisions that arise when another Raider might appear: whether to reveal your position, share a route, fight, or leave with what you have. Players who enjoy those encounters may find a quieter extraction less satisfying, even when the machines remain dangerous.
There is a material trade-off, too. Embark says overall loot value will be lower in PvE sessions, while PvPvE will receive slightly higher baseline loot values during the test. Players focused on valuable hauls may prefer to accept the added risk. Those learning a map may decide that a more reliable chance to finish a run is worth the smaller return.
Choose One Run at a Time
The toggle makes this a decision about your next objective, not your identity as a player. Use PvE to inspect Pendola Pass, complete a particular task, or spend time studying a new enemy. Switch to PvPvE when you want player encounters or a shot at more valuable loot. Embark says PvE play will not affect your PvPvE matchmaking rating.
For now, the choice is temporary: Embark says the toggle will be removed when the test ends, and its return is not guaranteed. Try the mode that serves your current goal, then judge what you miss when you switch.
Neither queue is the right answer for every Raider. The useful question is whether this run is for learning, earning, or embracing uncertainty. Even when browsing ARC Raiders BluePrints for sale, keep that immediate goal in mind before choosing where to deploy.
