Similar to Burning Crusade Classic, Blizzard will provide a single character boost per account when Wrath of the Lich Kings Classic's launch. This will ensure players who did not play WoTLK Classic and Burning Crusade Classic can get up to speed and dive into the new content. When asked if Wrath of the Lich King Classic would offer a paid deluxe edition similar to the one offered for Burning Crusade Classic--a bundle that upset a portion of the Classic community due to it introducing microtransactions to the previously microtransaction-free old-school MMO--Blizzard said it had nothing to announce at this time. Blizzard did mention, however that similar content to the items that are included in the deluxe edition of Burning Crusade Classic. edition was available in WoW since the beginning, going all the way up to the Collector's Edition that was released for the game's first release in 2004. Blizzard stated that a lot of the modifications in Wrath of the Lich King Classic are based on the community that plays the game that Blizzard stated is the main driver behind almost every decision that the team takes as well as what expansions might receive to receive the "Classic" treatment in the future.
One thing that players will not be able to get to make but is the decision of whether or not they'd like to proceed to Wrath of the Lich King at all. This is in contrast to the launch of Burning Crusade Classic, where Blizzard allowed players to choose of remaining on what they now call "Classic Era" servers, or moving towards The Burning Crusade, all currently running Burning Crusade Classic servers will automatically be transformed to Wrath of the Lich King Classic servers when the expansion's launch. Although Burning Crusade servers won't exist until Wrath King Classic's release Blizzard has left the possibility open for a possible return to the expansion later on.
"As for what happens following Wrath of the Lich King We really want for feedback from the people in the community," Zierhut said. "This entire project is by the community, and this entire project was born because of the demand from the community. Therefore, we would like to hear what the community would like to be able to see next...We have our own views however the views of the people in the community will assist us in making better choices."
