Rack would pay them back with high interest rates
Another victim claimed that this scheme had "so many people signing up" that Rack and Raangee (another NBA 2K player) have created an FAQ document to explain the process. P.TV found a paper in which Raangee claimed to be "the one who creates opportunities for individuals" and that Rack, Calvin and another accomplice who does not appear to belong to the NBA 2K community dealt with the financial aspects of the scheme. P.TV was not able to reach Calvin and is deciding not to publish his name.
Rangee states in the FAQ document in the FAQ document that "first of all we'd like to make clear that what we're doing isn't in any way illegal." This FAQ document was obtained by P.TV. Rangee says that if it was illegal, it would be illegal since it's not worth the chance of me being in prison.
Be aware, in the event of a fraud, I, and [Rack] would not go through the effort of putting their names out there for people to find out who we are. I am a fan of this community too much and have invested a lot of time and effort to make my name visible."
Simply put, victims believed that if they pay Calvin a large sum of money, Rack would pay them back with high interest rates. Raangee would get a 25 percentage cut as the recruitment fee. In the FAQ, Rack usually sends a acknowledgement of what's due. The money will be received in 7-14 business days due to his bank security.
"Most banks need 5 business day to transfer money, however, Rack's Bank is slower." At first, the people we spoke with said they received promises of payments from Rack. But , soon after communications stopped. Many victims claim did not receive any money from Rack. The scammers would excuse themselves or avoid victims when they tried to contact Rack about their money.
