Odell Beckham Jr. became one of the most talked about stories this week when Beckham and the Cleveland Browns decided to part ways, with his eventual decision to waive his contract expected to be formal on Monday. Naturally, with how big the Lions list and no. 1 priority on waivers, many are considering whether Detroit will include him once all waiver applications are being processed.

Personally, I think it's unlikely it occurring. Given how the Browns restructured his contract--eliminating both remaining years on his contract, and not adjusting his 2021 salary--it makes little sense for Detroit. They'd need to create a significant amount of capacity space to accommodate Beckham on the roster this year, and they'd only be able to play nine games from Beckham (if Beckham doesn't throw protests about joining Detroit) before he became the first free agent. They could get a compensatory pick out of it, but that's in the event that they're not actively as free agents.

However, when it is Madden, we don't have to be concerned about drama in locker rooms and creating a sense of culture or even think concerning the pay cap. So on this week's Madden simulation, we're creating Beckham as a Lion and facing Detroit against the most pathetic team that's in the NFL (according to Madden) and that's the Houston Texans, in a desperate effort to see the team win a game, virtually or otherwise.
