WoW is still the same useless grindfest
Even though I began playing more frequently around 70, I have a level 70 warlock on my new account I created in the summer. It took me a while to get to 70 , and I didn't really play any game content.
After several months of playing console games such as Halo MCC and Pokemon, but in moderation, WoW has me back. Recently, I started to go through some WoW videos and play. It's hard not to think about playing the game once more. It's just $15 and I can get back on my TBC warlock...
This is the problem with moderation: It keeps the addiction circuits in motion and can hinder you from making the real changes that really improve your life. It's almost like hibernating: The chance of relapse is always right just around the corner.
Going back to WoW could cost more than $15. It would mean months and weeks of wasted time. Also, your progress would be reset and your efforts (deleting your account and going through the initial phases of withdrawal) will be deemed unimportant and useless, and you'd set yourself up for more discomfort and pain in the near future than the current temptation you're struggling with.
The urges to indulge will vanish if you resist these urges. Take a break from your laptop and walk out. Do other things. Quit thinking about it, and in all honesty put off watching WoW videos and streaming. Do not let yourself get back to.
WoW is still the same useless grindfest that it's always been. It's designed to condition and manipulate your brain. The designs are devious and even illegal. You're a laboratory rat for these corporations that never look for new ways to lure users and keep taking money and time out of their customers. WoW isn't the pathway to a full, happy life. It's only ever offered short-term relief that you'll pay for later. Playing this game will never result in different outcomes than it did in the previous years, and you know what happened to you.
You can delete the account you made during summer. You're not ready to give up, but you're not ready to give up. It's a pain that you became addicted at an early age as well as throughout your early years. This makes it harder. It makes it even more difficult, however it also makes it so satisfying to win over this addiction. Because it means something. You'll need to end WoW forever anyway but the question is what percentage of your life and life's potential you are willing to give up for Blizzard and a 17-year old game before you can quit (or are required to).
