1. London
Most tourists start exploring England by visiting the British capital, London. It has enough attractions to keep a visitor entertained for several days, or even weeks. Apart from the obvious must-sees, there are also lots of galleries and museums, including the British Museum, where over 7 million objects from human history are exhibited. Lovers of modern architecture can admire buildings by the famous contemporary architect Norman Foster. London also offers many parks to relax in, such as St. James’s Park, Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens.

London eye = also called the Millenium wheel is an observance very close to Westminster bridge and the city of Westminster itself. Since it was bulit, it has attracted an enormous number of tourist who can enjoy the view over the Londons most popular sightseeings. Whats more, i tis the most visited paid attraction in the UK. On the other hand, it quite pricey and you have to wait in a long que to get there.
Soho
Soho is a district in London where especially Asian imigrants live. It offers a great opportunity to taste many asian cousines. I tis also a place to buy many things from electronics to little souvenirs very cheap.
Greenwich
Greenwich is a city quarter in London where the summer Olympic games were held in 2012. It is also a location where the Royal Greenwich Observatory lies. The Observatoty is bulit on the hill and is surrounded by a scenic park. Prime meridian i salso to found there and people use to také photos of themselves having one foot on the easter side of the planet and one foot on the wester side of the planet.

2. York
York is an ancient city that was very wealthy and powerful under the reign of the Vikings (who called it Jorvik). At the Jorvik Viking Centre you can see reconstructions of Viking York, complete with sounds and smells. The museum is built on the exact spot where the Viking town and houses were uncovered in 1978. A small train takes you through the exhibits, and a museum at the end displays real Viking artefacts. York is also famous for its large Gothic cathedral.
3. Bath
Bath was established as a spa town by the ancient Romans in 43 AD, and you can still admire the Roman baths there, built over hot springs (= places where hot water naturally flows from the earth). The city also has some great examples of 18th-century Georgian architecture, and it is connected with the writer Jane Austen, who used to live there. I have been to Bath once when I was 14 and even then I could tell that Bath is truly a picturesque city where tourists can never be bored. I especially admired the old baths which were unbeliavebly well preserved.
4. Oxford and Cambridge
Oxford and Cambridge are famous university towns, and their universities are among the oldest in the world. Even if you are not a student, you can enjoy the old architecture of the colleges and their special atmosphere. The River Cam in Cambridge is a popular place for punting (= boating in long narrow boats moved by pushing a long pole against the riverbed).
5. Lake district
If you prefer countryside to cities, you may enjoy the Lake District, a region with beautiful scenery, mountains, lakes and dense forests. Lake Windermere is the largest lake in Britain. The region is also connected with the “Lake Poets”, a group of 19th-century romantic poets who lived there and were inspired by the place (William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge...).
6. Nottingham
Nottingham and the nearby Sherwood Forest are well known as the home of the legendary Robin Hood, and you can see an exhibition on the legends at Nottingham Castle. The town also boasts (= has something to be proud of) the oldest pub in England, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, thought to date from before 1189.
7. Canterbury
The town of Canterbury is known for its medieval cathedral, where the archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered in 1170. It became a destination for Christian pilgrims, and one such pilgrimage was the theme of The Canterbury Tales, a famous 14th-century literary work by Geoffrey Chaucer.
8. Straford upon Aven
Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of one of the greatest playwrights in history, William Shakespeare. You can visit the house where Shakespeare was born and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. But even if you are not into theatre, you can enjoy the old streets with picturesque half-timbered houses from Shakespeare’s time (= houses with a wooden frame which shows on the surface).

9. Salisbury and Stonehenge
The main attraction of Salisbury is its beautiful medieval cathedral. It was built eight hundred years ago and houses the Magna Carta – the famous document that the British constitution and legal system are based on. Some 15km from Salisbury you can find Stonehenge, perhaps the best-known prehistoric monument in the world. Built in about 2,500 BC, it consists of circles of big standing stones. It may have served as a burial ground and a place of worship (= religious ceremonies). People enjoy gathering there on the summer and winter solstice (= the longest and shortest days of the year) and watching the sunrise.
10. Liverpool
Liverpool draws thousands of music fans every year as it is the place where The Beatles were formed. In the past, it used to be a very important port, and a part of the city centre with the docks is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
11. Loch Ness
Loch Ness is a lake located in the Scotish highlands. It is a large and very deep lake. There is a legend that says there is a monster living under the water there, but descriptions of the monster varies from one account to another, which make the story less trustworthy.
US
1. New York
New York is the biggest city in the US and is sometimes called The Big Apple. It is comprised of five major boroughs: Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island and Brooklyn.
Central park as one of the most Americas first and foremost major urban public spaces it receives nearly 35 milion visitors annualy. It is a suitable place for people who want to run away from the hutle and bustle of the city. Not only does it have many water places surrounded by benches, but i tis also uquiped with lots of pedestrian zones used for walks. If you are a more adventurous person, you can have fun at two ice skating rinks, in the Zoo or in the wildlife sanctuary. If you dont feel like walking, you can take bike taxi or rent a boat.
Metropolian Museum of Art is not so far away from the park. Over 2 milions works of art from all periods and culture are part of the musems extensive permanent collection. Entry to the museum is a voluntary donation.
New York is famous for its unique skyline- a great number of skyscrapers built very closely to each toher. The Empire State Building is the most famous.
The Empire State Building is an essential part of the city. The majority of tourist who travel to NY are attracted by visiting the tower. It offers a great view over Manhattan, where it lies, and over the whole city. It once was the highest building in the world.
The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan to the Brooklyn. Not only tourists, but also born and bred Americans enjoy walking across the bridge using the elevated pedestrian zone where there is no disturbance from the annoying traffic below.
The Statute of Liberty is undoubtedly a must-see when it comes to travelling to NY. The copper statue, a gift from French people to the people of the USA, is a symbol of the city as well as the symbol of freedom. It is a welcoming sight for immigrants arriving from abroad. Visitors can get there by ferry, which they have to pay for. The boat tour also offers a spectacular 360 degree view of the Harbour.
Wall Street is a place where you can find out how the one percent of the population lives. It is a street where are located beautiful neoclassical buildings, Federal Reserve Bank, Federal Hall where George Washington had his inauguration as the first president of the US and many banks and joint-stock companies. There is also the famous golden charging bull sculpture.


2. Washington
Washigton DC is the capicatl of the US. It is named after the first president of the country. It is a city planned and built as the place of residence for the government and constitutional institutions.
The Capitol is the seat of the USAs Congress.
The White House is the residence of the president.
The Lincoln Memorial is a building inspired by Greek architecture with a long stairway and a huge sculpture of Abraham Lincoln.
The Jefferson Memorial is a bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson holding the Declaration of Independence standing in the middle of the collonade.
Arlington National Cemetry is the nations most sacred place because veterans from all wars in which the US fought in are buried there.
Pentagon is a residence of the FBI and the seat of the Department of Defense.
3. Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the gambling mecca located in Nevada. Generally speaking, it is a city of unfettered fun and enjoyment. An uncountable number of casinos can be found throughout the city. The city is also known for its fast proces of getting married. There are even drive through chapels where people can get married.

4. Yellowstone
Yellowstone is the oldest national park in the world located in the state of Wyoming. It is consisted of many ecosystems and natural unique phenomenoms. The most famous attraction of the park is Old Faithfull Geyser. Grizzly bear can be also seen here. People are allowed to camp in the park.
5. The Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge located in San Francisco. The bridge was the longest bridge in the world when it was completed in 1937, since then, it has becoma an internationally recognised symbol of of the city. The famous red-orange colour was specially chosen to make the bridge easily visible in the thick fog that often shrouds it.
6. Death Valley
Death Valley is the hottest and the driest place on Earth. It is located in California.

7. The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona. Many attraction are popular here: rafting, hiking, bunjee jumping and helikoptér tours.
8. Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York. From largest to smallest, the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, which lie completely in Canada and are said to be the nicest of all of them, the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls which lie in the US. This natural sight shows the monumental power of the nature and is a great place to travel for tourist and families.
Australia
1. Sydney
Sydney is the oldest and the largest city in the country. There are many sights that attract a great number of tourist from all around the world.
Sydney is known for its beautiful harbour. The Harbour Bridge, which was completed in 1932, connects the south and north coast of Port Jackson.
Another famous landmark on the waterfront is the Sydney Opera House. It is admired for its dramatic roof, which was designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon to resemble (look like) the sails of a ship. In 2007, the Sydney Opera House was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a masterpiece of 20th century architecture.
The famous Bondi Beach, the closest ocean beach to the centre of Sydney, is synonymous with Sydney’s beach lifestyle. From mid-October to the beginning of November, the beach hosts an open-air free sculpture exhibition called “Sculpture by the Sea”.
The Rocks are not a collection of rocks; this is one of the country’s oldest suburbs. Once a poor district, it’s now a tourist centre with many bars, markets and trendy shops.
The Royal Botanical Gardens are an ideal location for a picnic or a walk. In a special section you will find Wollemi Pines, one of the rarest plant species in the world. Moreover, you can see many tourist attractions from here, such as the Sydney Opera House and Government House, the seat of the Governor of New South Wales, which looks a little like a castle.
2. Uluru
Uluru, formerly known as Ayers Rock), is one of the most impressive natural sights in the world and i tis located in Australia. This huge mass of sandstone stands in the middle of a wide, flat desert and is 335 meters high. Although it lies hundreds of kilometers from the nearest town, Uluru is a major tourist attraction with its own hotel. The rock is particulary beatiful at sunset, when it seems to change colours. Legend about stealing rocks.


New Zeland
1. Hobbiton Movie set
The Hobbiton Movie Set is a signifant location used for the Lord of the Rings movie triology and for the Hobbit movie. It is located on the North Island in New Zeland. I tis a popular Tolkien fan tourist destination which offers visitors an exciting experience to get an insight into how and where those movies were made. I have never been there, but i am planningt to. I dare to say that it must be a wonderful trip for anyone who loves Tolkiens books.
