Franchise mode might be more realistic
Linemen in real football should adjust how they block based on the game. But, it has always been the case that offensive linemen play every down the same way. While Madden NFL 21's leap to the next generation version of the game saw some improvements, it's an issue in the game that has to be addressed.
Franchise mode might be more realistic than it is at least in the eyes of many Madden fans who have been playing the mode for years. There are a lot of ways to enhance the experience, but one of the simpler factors is to make the trade wire a little more real. The franchises don't have control over players, and they can have to make their own decisions on who they sign and how they trade throughout the year. It could be beneficial for the player but it doesn't make for a realistic simulation. Intelligenter AI can create a huge difference.
The presentation is important and, according to Madden players, EA has not done the best job in providing players with the ability to change the setting of the game and making games appear realistic visually, even with better graphics. The sidelines can be a bit ridiculous with oddly shaped people in football pads doing the same sequence of actions over and over repeatedly. Similar behaviors are seen in the crowd. It would be fascinating to watch the crowd move more inside the stadium, to at a minimum create movement.
