I'm assuming that a recolour often is the term used to describe a texture swap? I'm not entirely sure what the definition of the word means. It's much simpler than any other task redo the color, since they just have to alter the color with a slider before calling it completed.
It's why it is so disconcerting to see so many armors that are merely recolored. You could simply put an intern in there and they'd probably be okay. Recolors should be 100% accessible to all slider players.
I was uncertain if a recolour would also constitute a skin. Reskins were always my understanding of animations, however with a totally different look. Recolour, however, is a recolour.
LFR heroic, normal LFR, heroic, normal, and LFR are all one set with colour changes. Only the mythic set (and a few pieces) that are different
Reskin is a skin that makes use of the same skeleton however it layers on a different layer. These can be almost exactly like color recolors (if the tweaks to skin are not too major). Or they add additional pieces and bits.
The Iron Skyreaver is a normal mount made of rylak, but it has some (extremely loud) jet thrusters onto its wings and pieces of armor. This is a reskin.
