The likes of Mathieu, Baker, Bates

One thing that Buffalo Bills fans may notice is that neither Jordan Poyer nor Micah Hyde are on that list.

The likes of Mathieu, Baker, Bates, Simmons, and Smith are all worthy of their positions in the Top 10. The remaining five can, however, be debatable.

Hyde and Poyer's ratings are not yet publicized. EA hasn't yet disclosed the ratings of certain rookies or the top ten players at certain positions.

If you take a look at the comparison of Hyde and Poyer with the Top 10 safeties, it's easy to see why they deserve to be rated higher.In the year 2020, Poyer finished with 124 combined tackles, five passes protected, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and two sacks. Hyde finished with 70 combined tackles, five passes defended and an interception. They're certainly similar to the safeties from Madden 22's Top 10.

An ideal place to start could be with Devin McCourty. McCourty was a combined 68 tackles in 2020 and six passes he protected. He also recorded two interceptions. McCourty's stats aren't any better than Hyde and Poyer's. Poyer is, at least, must be higher than McCourty. Hyde must be in the range of three as well.

The next player to be contrasted is Eddie Jackson. Jackson was averaging 82 tackles in the year 2020 and three forced fumbles. He also had five passes defended. Poyer's stats warrant a better rating than Jackson's. And it could be argued that Hyde is a better rating or perhaps a bit lower than Jackson.
